Health

There's increasing evidence of how a vegan diet is beneficial for human's health. The Western medicine has rarely included a plant-based diet as a way to be healthier, but would rather give you medicines to cover up the problems, rather than telling us to make radical changes to avoid the problems from happening in the first place. The benefits of a vegan diet are particularly evident for blood pressure, heart deseases, diabetes and colesterol. But there are lots of other implications around a better quality of sleep, better sexual health, mental health, etc... I have personally seen the benefits in two areas in particular: blood circulation and gut health. I'll tell you the story for the former. I have Raynaud's syndrome and, in the past, my hands and feet were always cold, even in Summer. In Winter it'd get worse and my fingers' tops would be constantly bloated, red/purple-ish and painful. And with exercise, I'd struggle to warm up despite sweating. My GP in the past gave me lots of meds to make the blood flow better to my fingers and toes - which had lots of side effects (e.g. bruises everywhere), and didn't resolve the issue. As I stopped the pills, the problem was still there. This stopped when I went vegan and I now warm up very quickly and my hands and feet warm up well when I exercise. My body just works!
Honestly, it's revolutionary! And your "where do I get the protein?" question would hopelly be demystified in the FAQs.

The fact that meat, fish, cheese and eggs - and all the processed food that utilises them - are everywhere in our supermarkets (in the West at least), doesn't mean that we need them in our diet. And there is overwhelming evidence that not only we don't need them, but that they are also detremental to our health. And all the necessary nutrients can be find in a healthy (not processed) plant-based diet. We just need to learn a bit more about it 🙂

I admit that many studies I've read have been done in the US, and they may feel a bit distant for people in the UK, and even more in the EU, because in Europe we haven't reached the level of processed, sugary and salty food that exist in the Standard American Diet. However, we are unfortunately going in that direction, and the finding of the benefits of a plant-rich diet are widely applicable and worth knowing for everyone, regardless of where we live.
