This is fabolous, and we were quite skeptical about it when we made it the first time. Because the concept of "Mac and Cheese" doesn't exist in Italy, and if you travel to other parts of Europe, it's always a bit of a wild card:

There are many dishes you can make with polenta, and its a good and nutritious substitute of bread if you forgot to buy it (or make it).
