Falafel
How it should look like - Now do it better!
These are THE perfect falafels! They are delicious - I love them! And they are easy and quick to make. I've always thought falafels were much more complicated that this. Give it a try!
Ingredients (2-3 people)#
- Dry chickpeas: 250 gr
- Parsley: 50 gr
- Garlic: 1 slice
- Onion: 1 small onion, or half of a medium/big one
- Cumin: 1 tsp
- Baking powder: 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Sunflower oil as needed
Method#
Before starting, you will need to remember to soak the chickpeas for at least 8 hours. Then when that time has passed... 1. Put the chickpeas in a blender with the parsley. Grind for a few seconds just to reduce the volume. 2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender and mix everything well until you'll have a mixture that looks good and malleable. 3. Take a table spoon or something similar and create the falafel balls. 4. If you want to deep-fry them, you can through them straight into the boiling oil. If you want to cook them in the over (like I do), I suggest having a bit of sunflower oil in a plate, roll the falafel in the oil briefly, and then position them on a baking tray with baking paper. 5. Cook in fan oven for 20 minutes.
Enjoy them with a sauce, they are delicious!
Tips#
You can eat them in a plate with vegetables on the side and a sauce, or you can do the proper falafel wrap and put them in a wrap with hummus and other ingredients. I generally eat them in a plate with yogurt sauce.
