Polenta
How it should look like - Now do it better!
There are many dishes you can make with polenta, and its a good and nutritious substitute of bread if you forgot to buy it (or make it). So here I'm just going to give you the ratio to make a polenta, and then you can see other recipes that include it, or that you want to make with polenta aside.
Ingredients (2 people)#
- Corn flour for polenta: 200-300 gr (depends how hungry you are)
- Water: usually you should do 4 times the quantity of corn flour, if you want a more compact texture; or 5 times the quantity of flour if you want a softer texture. I usually prefer it softer. So if I do 200 gr of corn flour, it would be 1 litre (200 X 5) of water.
- Rock salt: 1 TBSP
Method#
- Put the flour into a pot, then pour the water and stir
- Add the rock salt
- Cook it on medium flame whilst continuing to stir with a wooden spoon or a whisk, until you see that the polenta start to get to the texture you want
- Ready! Easy, no?
