Tofu Sweet & Sour

Tofu unfortuntely doesn't taste like much, but it's easy to cook in many different ways that give it a lot of flavour. And this is a super easy recipe that will give it a nice sweet and sour taste with a creamy texture.

Ingredients (2 people)#

  • Tofu: 280-300 gr
  • Soy sauce: 6 tbsp
  • Maple syryp: 3 tbsp
  • White wine vinegar: 2 tbsp
  • Sunflower oil (or similar): 2 tbsp
  • Paprika (not smoked): 1 tsp
  • White flour: 1 tsp

Method#

  1. Put the oil in a non-stick pan, and warm it up
  2. Cut the tofu into cubes (I usually do more or less 1 cm cubes) and fry them in the pan
  3. In the meantime, mix up the other ingredients in a bowl, with a whisk: soy sauce, marple syrup, vinegar, paprika and flour
  4. When the tofu has a little crust on the side from frying, pour the mix into the pan and stir. You will see that the mixture will slowly become like a glue around the pieces of tofu. Once that's done, your tofu is ready!

Tips#

This is one of my 'go to' when I don't know what to do and I don't have time to make something elaborate. It literaly takes 10 mins and can be eaten alongside some salad or other vegetables.
